About Women in League

The Harvey Norman Women in League program celebrates and acknowledges the role women play at all levels and in all areas of the Rugby League family.

Established in 2007, the Women in League program aims to make women feel proud of their roles and contribution to the game. Over 140,000 women and girls have a direct connection with Rugby League - whether it is as administrators, players, coaches, employees, volunteers or club members- women really are at the heart of the game.

Going in to its eight year, the culmination of celebrations occurs at the Harvey Norman Women in League Round. The 2014 Women in League Round will be in Round 10 (May 16-19).

The Women in League Achievement Award, presented at the One Community Awards, is presented to a woman who has either acted as an outstanding advocate for the advancement and opportunity of women in Rugby League or the advancement of Rugby League in general.

On top on the Women in League Achievement Award the Favourite Son Award is given to a deserving NRL player who possesses outstanding qualities of sportsmanship both on and off the field during the Women in League Round.
